Give the Gift of Herbs to Your Favorite Herb Enthusiast This Year!
Consider giving a Share of Culinary and Medicinal Herbs. It could be the gift that keeps on giving, and next year you could recieve the herbal preparations as a gift in return. I will be organizing classes in the spring. The class topics will range from harvesting and care for herb annuals and perrenials to praparation of herbs into medicines and other herbal products. Please send me an email if you ar interested in signing up for one of these classes. Gift Certificates in any amount are available at the Farmer's Markets, and can be used toward payment of the CSA share, other products, or classes. Schedules and prices for classes will be available at the website.
Speaking of Farmer's Markets... I will be at the University District Farmer's Market Saturdays from 9-2, and alternating Sundays at the West Seattle Farmer's Market from 10-1; and the Ballard Farmer's Market from 11-3. Please stop by if you have a chance. So when that officemate comes down with the flu, but is saving the paid sick day for when she wants to play, you can build your defenses up with some Echinacea & Calendula Tea! Spread that around the office!
It has been a busy fall for me so far, I have been selling my products at the West Seattle Farmer's Market since late October, and it has been so great meeting my neighbors. The folks who shop at the market noticed that I was new to the market and have come to check out what I have. So many are very knowledgeable about herbs already, and have welcomed me. It has been pretty cold and windy so far, but I bring a large thermos of hot water and warm myself with my new Tea Concentrates with Honey. I have been giving out free samples, so that people can tell if they like them. It has been very encouraging. I also made some herbed vinegars and oils for culinary uses. I rented a kitchen in Fremont to prepare the new products, and spent an all nighter doing it. I have still not quite recovered from the lack of sleep that night. I used the kitchens at Cameron Catering, and am extremely grateful for their hospitality! Thank You, Michel and Suzanne!
